Mani Da Brat is more than an artist. She’s a world-builder.

Rooted in the storytelling traditions of hip-hop and inspired by the fearless women who made room for themselves in music, Mani Da Brat is a Los Angeles–rooted artist, writer, and creative director whose work lives at the intersection of music, emotion, and visual storytelling.

Blending sharp lyricism, unapologetic personality, poetic vulnerability, and an ever-evolving sound, Mani creates from the parts of life that are often difficult to explain. Love, grief, identity, heartbreak, healing, and the complicated experience of being a Black woman are woven throughout her work. Her artistry makes room for contradictions: softness and rage, humor and hurt, confidence and uncertainty. She doesn’t believe every story needs to be pretty to be worth telling.

Drawing inspiration from the lyrical depth of Kendrick Lamar, the fearless individuality of Left Eye, the funk-forward spirit of Parliament-Funkadelic, and the genre-defying creativity of artists like Janelle Monáe, Mani approaches art without confining herself to a single lane. Whether she’s recording music, writing poetry, developing a visual concept, or building an entirely new creative project, the intention remains the same: make something honest, make something memorable, and make it mean something.

Her creativity extends beyond the recording booth. As a writer, published author of Hellfire and Honey, visual creative, and founder of multiple independent projects, Mani treats every medium as another way to tell a story. From the words on a page to the imagery behind a release, she is deeply invested in the details that turn an idea into an experience.
